Implantable lenses function similarly to glasses or contact lenses but are implanted in the eye itself. And, unlike patients who undergo cataract surgery to remove their natural lens that has become cloudy, patients who receive implantable lenses keep their natural lens intact.
At WEI, our surgeons were among the first to perform implantable lens surgery and have extensive experience with the two
FDA approved implantable lenses currently available in the United States: the
Verisyse Phakic IOL and the
Visian ICL. For more information on these FDA-approved lenses, click on the tabs above.
During your comprehensive evaluation at WEI, your surgeon will review whether implantable lenses are a good option for you.
