The
IntraLase laser is one of the latest breakthroughs in LASIK technology. Dr. Woolfson, who has been an
FDA clinical investigator, evaluated the clinical
outcomes and results and after exhaustive research is proud to bring this
FDA approved, advanced technology to WEI. IntraLase® technology provides for greater
precision,
safety and predictability through an extremely advanced
laser.
Bladeless LASIK with IntraLase uses lasers to create the corneal flap and perform the vision correction procedure. With conventional LASIK, the first step (creating the corneal flap) is done with a device called a microkeratome. Though the microkeratome method is still a widely recommended and approved method, the IntraLase laser is documented to be safer because it uses a precise computer-controlled beam of light to create the flap.
Bladeless LASIK with this new technology is now the minimally invasive, most sophisticated approach to allowing patients who previously were not good candidates for LASIK because of corneal or other vision issues, to now enjoy freedom from glasses and contacts with Bladeless LASIK.
Bladeless LASIK with IntraLase® has many advantages over the microkeratome approach:
Woolfson Eye Institute (WEI) feels that the IntraLase® option provides for a more precise, less invasive, and safer LASIK procedure for those patients who qualify. However, WEI understands that your medical history, current conditions, precise visual case, and personal preferences must all be evaluated during your comprehensive evaluation to customize the best treatment plan for your unique situation.
Again this demonstrates the overall value of the Woolfson LASIK Difference. We combine overwhelming surgical skill and experience with the widest range of advanced and proven technologies to avoid “One size fits all”, cookie-cutter procedures being applied to everyone without this added level of care. This added care and customization definitely takes more time and resources, but the results are definitely worth it.
