Jason S. Brody, MDDr. Brody is a board certified referral ophthalmologist specializing in cataract and refractive surgery. His areas of expertise include micro-incision cataract surgery (MICS); premium lens implants (multifocal, accommodating, and toric), and laser vision correction (LASIK and PRK), as well as medical and laser treatments for glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.

Dr. Brody has conducted extensive clinical and basic science research in the areas of cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, glaucoma, ocular trauma, and uveitis. He has participated in FDA trials for both pharmaceuticals and refractive surgery. His work has been presented at major scientific meetings, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), The International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), and has led to several publications. His latest project involved developing a novel surgical technique, which uses an implantable ophthalmic device to improve complex cataract surgeries.

Originally from Minneapolis, Dr. Brody attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where he received his undergraduate degree in Spanish and is still fluent in the language. He then earned both his M.D. degree and an M.S. in applied physiology from The Chicago Medical School/Finch University of Health Sciences in North Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Brody subsequently completed his transitional internship at Illinois Masonic Medical Center and his residency in ophthalmology at the legendary Cook County Hospital, both in Chicago.
After completing his medical training, Dr. Brody pursued an additional year of specialized training in New England focused on laser vision correction and refractive surgery, including LASIK, PRK, and CK surgery. For the past three years he has been in private practice as a referral ophthalmologist and refractive surgeon in Charleston, South Carolina.

Dr. Brody is active in several of the most respected organizations in ophthalmology, as a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and as a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He has also served as a consultant for several major ophthalmic pharmaceutical companies and surgical device makers.

He lives in the north Atlanta area with his wife and their two young children. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys the outdoors, playing music and traveling.
