At Woolfson Eye Institute (WEI), the goal of treating your glaucoma is to reduce the build up of pressure in your eye. Depending on the type of glaucoma, this is done using medications or surgery.
Most people with open-angle glaucoma can be treated successfully with medicated eye drops. Treatment options at WEI ensure you receive the latest medication options. Most eye drops prescribed today have fewer side effects than those used in the past. You may also be treated with oral medication to help lower the pressure in the eye.
Some patients will need other forms of treatment, such as a laser treatment, to help open the fluid outflow channels. Some of the advanced laser treatments available at WEI are listed above. All of our laser treatments are performed in our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC), which was designed, developed and built with your complete satisfaction and safety in mind.
