At Woolfson Eye Institute (WEI), our surgeons and doctors feel that surgery should typically be considered as a final treatment option. There are many other options for treating corneal disease, especially when diagnosed in the early stages. Corneal diseases and conditions such as corneal abrasions, corneal ulcers, fuch’s dystrophy, keratoconus, pinguecula and pterygium can often be treated initially with medicated eye drops, prescription antibiotics and steroids.
