SURGICAL - BROW LIFTING

brow liftAs we get older, the brow and forehead are often the areas that show the first signs of aging. Age is not the only factor that contributes to premature signs of aging. Sun damage and other environmental stresses along with gravity and the natural loss of collagen and elastin in tissues causes our skin to sag. This results in frown lines, wrinkles across the forehead, and increased heaviness of the eyebrows and upper eyelids. These changes contribute to what can be interpreted by others as a tired, angry, or sad expression that may not reflect the way you actually feel.

If you are bothered by expression lines or other signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift may be right for you. A brow lift (also known as a forehead lift):
  • Minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes
  • Improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines, vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows
  • Repositions a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid
  • Raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position
  • Can correct contour irregularities
During a brow lift procedure, Dr. Lewen tightens loose skin, lifts the drooping brows, and flattens forehead wrinkles. If appropriate for your procedure, he can use an Endoscopic Technique where small incisions are made in the hairline. Using an endoscope the size of a drinking straw for visualization, he releases the muscles that worsen frown lines and physically lifts the sagging brows and skin.

"Have you ever felt that you've been given a new lease on life? That's exactly how I feel since I've had LASIK. Instead of green fuzz around a tree trunk, I can now actually see the outline of the leaves. I have the chance again to enjoy so many of the little things in our everyday life that we take so much for granted. Thank you so much, Dr. Woolfson, for renewing my eyesight and giving me the chance to see clearly again."
