Cataract is a condition of clouding of the lens inside the eye that usually occurs due to the natural aging of the lens. As the cataract becomes more mature (increasingly opaque and dense), light that does reach the film layer of the eye (retina) becomes increasingly blurred and distorted, until the eye is essentially blinded.

Pain-Free Cataract Surgery

A cataract surgery is pain-free. Patients are awake during the surgery and are able to resume normal activities shortly afterwards. Many patients experience vision that is actually better than before they developed cataracts. Once removed, cataracts will not grow back.
