How Much is LASIK?
Dr. Paven Korotana
Tired of glasses or contacts? Do you want to see clearly all the time every day? You might have heard about something called LASIK, but thought it was not an option for you because it might be too expensive. You are not alone in wondering about the price.
So how much is LASIK?
This is one of the most common questions patients ask.
As enticing as it sounds to hear family and friends talk about not having to deal with the hassle of glasses and contact lenses every day, patients always wonder if it’s affordable.
Is LASIK affordable for me?
Before venturing into the price of LASIK, the very first question is whether you are a candidate. While LASIK can help the vast majority of contact lens or eyeglass wearers freedom from glasses, it might not be the perfect option for every patient.
The first step is to book a LASIK consultation (which is FREE for most patients at Woolfson Eye!) where we will take multiple measurements of your eyes, with the doctor then reviewing the results with you to determine the best treatment option specifically for your eyes.
Once you’ve been given the OK to have LASIK, a surgical coordinator will go over pricing with you. Pricing for LASIK does range from $2000 to $3000/eye depending on the specific measurements for your eyes, which may sound like a lot, especially with ads historically claiming much lower prices.
However, many eye care practices offer low cost ads to get patients in the door and then the upselling begins once you become a patient.
Choose Woolfson Eye Institute for LASIK
Our approach is to deliver value: After LASIK surgery, for instance, we follow patients with post-op appointments for a full year to ensure they are happy with their vision, and to offer re-treatments in the rare case that it’s needed.
Post operative appointments for the first year are included in your cost of LASIK, and for most patients, enhancements are also free (forever!).
Affordability is as important as value. Many patients are motivated to choose LASIK, but simply don’t have the funds. There’s an entire industry that’s evolved to help patients finance elective procedures like LASIK and similar procedures.
The most popular of the mechanisms for funding refractive surgery is CareCredit, which is used by lots of Woolfson Eye Institute patients. You can apply for CareCredit on this page.
