Victor Liou, MD

Dr. Victor LiouDr. Victor Liou provides oculoplastic services at Woolfson Eye Institute. He specializes in the medical and surgical management of the eyelids and lacrimal (tear) system. Dr. Liou is skilled at reconstructing the periocular (surrounding the eye) area after Mohs surgery for the treatment of skin cancers. Additionally, he performs cosmetic eyelid surgery and injects Botox and facial fillers. Dr. Liou enjoys oculoplastics because he can manage vision and life threatening issues and provide patients with confidence that exudes into their everyday life.

Prior to settling down in Atlanta, Dr. Liou appreciated his time living in the midwest and east coast. He earned his MD from Saint Louis University where he was awarded with a Distinction in Research and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. Dr. Liou then completed an internship year through the University of Chicago before heading to Milwaukee’s Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) for ophthalmology residency. At MCW, Dr. Liou served as Chief Resident and helped manage one of the most robust oculoplastic departments in the country.

This experience allowed him to develop his passion for oculoplastic surgery and decide to further his surgical training. Dr. Liou was accepted into Harvard Ophthalmology’s prestigious two-year oculoplastics fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear in Boston where he learned additional advanced techniques of eyelid and facial surgery.

Dr. Liou is currently board certified through the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is an active participant at local and national ophthalmology and optometry meetings and  occasionally serves as a guest lecturer. During his time away from the clinic and operating room, Dr. Liou enjoys photography, bouldering, and experiencing new cultures through travel and food.

Dr. Liou is a board certified plastic surgeon with the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). He is among an elite group of board certified plastic surgeons, as there are less than 10 surgeons in the metro Atlanta area with this certification.
